IdeaStar Inc. is an independently owned and operated
Subchapter S business in the State of Ohio. Incorporated in 1999
we employ 40 full-time professionals at our offices in Cleveland.
Principal owner is James D. Fisher, also its President.
Background
From 1984 to 1999, Jim Fisher, founder and president
of IdeaStar, operated a creative communications firm that provided
multimedia programs and presentations for Fortune 500 and mid-tier
corporations in Northeast Ohio. In early 1995, Web site development was
added to the list of services and they became one of the first
companies in the area to produce corporate Web sites. During the next
four years, the company's focus migrated completely to the Web.
In late 1999, Jim’s firm was folded into IdeaStar
Inc. One of its first moves was to bring in Wayne Largent as its Vice
President and Chief Technical Officer. Wayne recruited a team of top
programmers to augment IdeaStar’s creative staff.
Now IdeaStar’s staff includes a Ph.D, several Master’s
degrees, and a few MBAs. Many have B.S. and B.A.
degrees in Art, Business, Computer Science, Journalism, Math, MIS, and
Physics. But it doesn’t simply take a degree to be top of the class
when it comes to innovation, efficiency and creativity. Our staff also
has accomplished animators and musicians, former small businesses
owners and military personnel. This is what makes innovation so natural
and exciting at IdeaStar. Together they built Web applications
primarily for startups and mid-tier corporations.
One of their first major applications was QQLink for
Ceres Group. This innovative site was the first completely paperless
quote-through-Issue online system for the insurance industry. It
launched in November 2000 and became the leading Web-enabled
insurance site. Currently, IdeaStar works with a multitude of insurance
carriers and distributors across the country providing the most
innovative Web-enabled products and services.
Today, IdeaStar is one of the strongest, most
progressive Web development companies in the nation with specific
expertise in insurance, financial services and
e-commerce.
